Let’s paint Regina Blue and Gold!!

Alright people I am more than just a little perturbed, there are signs going up in this great town of ours that are an affront to the Swaggerville vibe that has been built up this season.

Yes I speak of the Green Riders assault on our senses a huge billboard on Route 90 at Silver northbound. The riders oath, a vile notion if I have ever heard one is just spitting distance from Blue and Gold holy ground.

Dave Wheeler DJ at Power97 and announcer at the Bomber games is taking up a collection to stick it to those banjo playing, combine driving in breeders from the province we affectionately call The Gap.

So here’s the deal, if everyone attending this Fridays game vs Hamilton can chip in a few bucks at Power97, conveniently at Polo Park across from the stadium he promises that every single dollar collected will go to decorating the queen city in festive blue and gold in time for our home and home stand against the Riders starting Labour Day weekend.

I know I am in for 5 or 10, are you?  Show your Swaggerville mojo by dropping a couple of bucks in towards the cause.  This outrage can not be accepted without a fight!

Swaggerville Update: To the many fans of the Blue Bombers across the world who have been asking for an update to the paint Regina blue and gold campaign.  I have a few pictures to show you of the progress we are making in plastering Regina with Bomber Swag.

The first as you enter “The Gap” (Saskatchewan)

Next we have a lovely sign inside Regina that proclaims our dominance not only in football but also Mathematics.

7-1 vs 1-7 you do the math!

I’ll try to keep you posted on any more updates to the rivalry.  I am borrowing and stealing computer time from who’ll ever let me in their door since our flood last weekend.

I appologize for the lack of rants.

Mmmmm. Hi my name is Bob and I am a rageaholic.  I like to rant and rave about the smallest thing.

So I have to be honest with you one and all about my lack of substantive rants these weeks past.  Really I have nothing to bitch and whine about.

I have it pretty good in fact, I live with a great gal who loves me about 80% of the time, and for a woman loving a man that’s pretty damn good. I have a solid roof over my head for the most part.  Meaning that I would love to take the person or persons that added to this house and fucked it up so soundly into the back yard and beat them with a rubber hose for a couple of straight hours.  But other than that things are good.

I really don’t want for much, sure the sex could be more plentiful but who in my shoes doesn’t wish for the same thing.

Dar really is a doll, most days.  Hell she makes my lunch most of the time so I can’t bitch about her.

On the sports front things are looking up too.  The Jets are coming back in a huge way and believe it or not the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are setting records again. We are an astounding 6 -1 in the first half of the season, a mark that hasn’t been hit since the early 80’s around here.

So what do I have to be mad about?   Well the economy could be doing better, but I have a good job building aircraft and Dar is a whiz with the numbers so things on that front are peachy fucking keen.

I wish I could see my daughter more, I would love to take her fishing or really even shopping on daddy’s dime.  I do miss her a great deal.

Well that’s my rant for today people, I love you all.
Sorry for not being snarly or in a knot.

Sometimes life is just good.

Take care.

Bob

Grey Cup Sunday!

Today marks the playing of the 98th Grey Cup game marking almost 100 years of organized football in Canada.  Also lovingly known as the national drunk, it’s a day for the people to celebrate in a uniquely Canadian way.

A Proud Bomber Fan Celebrating a Canadian Tradition

As a country we know that we are barrelling headlong into yet another long bone grippingly cold winter.  Yet all across the country people will be shovelling off their lawns pulling out the second hand chesterfields out of the garage and setting up the big screen TV’s to watch the big game alfresco.
