42 and still kicking

First of all before I get all emotional I’d like to thank a few people who have really made my day.  I’m not normally the type to get all weepy about turning the page on a calendar another year, but this past couple of days has  left me speechless.

People whom I never expected to know the date of my birth some 42 years ago are stepping forward and blowing my mind.

My fellow blogger Rincewind author of the Erotixx blog, surprised the hell out of me with a great retrospective on my early blogging hobby, and included a Canadian day dedicated to our own natural beauties.

My mentor and part time savior Mel stepped up early yesterday and a wished me a great day. I’m looking forward to working with her at Klinic, to repay my debt and also try and help others work out troubled pasts and relationship issues.

My friends have been coming out of the woodwork in wishing me a great day, the apple of my eye Mykalya phoned me first thing and left me a cheeky message.

Of course that leaves Dar, my rock and my love. I didn’t ask for anything this year, so I hope things will be simple. A nice evening out is all I require.

Thank you one and all, my friends,my fellow bloggers from around the world. Your words mean more to me than I can ever express.

Thank you Harry Houdini and thank you world!

I am very grateful for the bounty of hits and new readers that you have delivered me.  Yes it was all at once and from all over the globe, but I feel the need to thank just the same.

I have worked here in my little space trying to put out the best that my mind can create.  Some people like it, others do not.  Of course there will be many among you that scoff at my numbers claiming a fraud or miscalculation.  But I assure you that they are unblemished.

Not only did the globe eat up my stories about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Harry Houdini but they also absolutely devoured everything else as well.  People from around the globe have had a taste of every part of Bob’s Place, and from what I can tell enjoyed.

I have done a great deal of reading on many of the blogs that I follow.  It seems that there is a great deal of discussion on the various levels of douchbaggery in society vis-a-vis dating.

Perfect but hardly real

Now I will freely admit that I am hardly a top specimen of the male human body.  I could really use to lose a few pounds, watch my cholesterol and be kind to animals.   But really doesn’t that describe everyone?

Why We Blog

Lots of people ask me why I blog and I rarely have a straight up answer for them.  Sometimes it’s because I need to get something off my chest.  Sometimes it’s because I like to post some pictures I have taken.

But in the end I guess it’s just because I have a voice.  One of many howling in this sometimes cold and inhuman world.  A voice that needs a place if not to be heard, then to be spoken.

If someone reads what I say that’s a good thing, if it’s good enough to be talked about that’s better.  If it’s shared and on and on and on.

The point is I guess that we are the voices of the free, we have the right to yell and rant or cry.   Many of us will give thanks this week.  Speaking of love and family, that’s cool too.

But the point is we can.  We are able, and we must.

As long as we have the ability we should express ourselves, because we can.  Let us rage about punk music in London, or cry about the death of a relationship.

This Internet is a glorious thing, for the people by, strangely enough the military.  But it’s ours now and let us never ever give it back.

Let us love and rant and share and care.
Why?

Because we can!!
